Thanks to famPLUS childcare, found re-entry after parental leave - Testimonial Daimler - Author Christine Finke

For eight months, she had been at home with her baby before Stephanie S. from Stuttgart returned to her desk at Daimler in May 2015. Childcare was actually arranged, but things didn't go quite smoothly: "We had quite a wave of infections and illnesses with my son," recalls the project manager. "And when my daily schedule gets disrupted because of that, it causes stress for me.

The Daimler employee realized that she needed someone to step in when the need arises. famPLUS is offered by Daimler as a service provider for arranging childcare and emergency childcare through the intranet.

So what to do? The project manager remembered that Daimler had pointed out on the intranet during the daycare strike that there is a cooperation with famPLUS and that employees can use this service provider if they need emergency care or advice.

Before I sit down myself and make 100 phone calls or deal with classified ads where I don't know what the outcome will be, I take advantage of my employer's offer to get professional help from famPLUS," thought Stephanie S. and took action. An employee-friendly offer in the context of balancing family and work, found Stephanie S.

Next, she arranged for a longer phone call, which lasted about 20 minutes, during which she was asked about her ideas. The professional consultant rates the advisory process as good: "I liked that very specific, clear questions were asked, and everything was thoroughly addressed.

For the S. family, it was important that there is a certain degree of flexibility in childcare, as the idea was to find care not for specific weekdays but rather for sporadic engagements.

We then relatively quickly invited two qualified female candidates, who really matched our expectations well. And one of them immediately brought a smile to our son's face, so we hired her," the young mother rejoices. The care worked flawlessly for months.

A small consolatory note: Unfortunately, child care is no longer available due to personal reasons. "It will end soon, so we have to look again. But that's just how it is sometimes. The new casting is already underway—I have submitted another request to famPLUS and I'm confident that we'll find someone again this time!" says Stephanie S. optimistically. She knows now that famPLUS will help her out.
