The father-in-law is now doing great. And that even at significantly lower costs!

It's a good thing my colleague handed me the flyer from famPLUS; my father-in-law and we are doing much better now!" beams Barbara Maier* when she talks about her experiences with famPLUS. Although the MEGGLE employee had already heard that her employer collaborates with the Munich family service provider, she categorized it under "help with finding childcare.

My children are already grown, so I don't need any more support," says Barbara Maier. She wasn't really aware that FamPLUS also provides competent and active assistance in arranging care services for elderly relatives. Mrs. Maier was all the more relieved when a colleague suggested she seek advice regarding her father-in-law in need of care.

It was like an aha moment!" enthuses the HR employee. "The famPLUS contact person got back to us super quickly, took a lot of time, and was able to answer all our questions." The 79-year-old father of Barbara Maier's partner had previously been cared for by a full-time foreign worker, which was a significant financial burden for the entire family. When Ms. Maier and her partner learned through the famPLUS consultation that there are many other means and ways to properly care for the father, it was a huge relief for them.

We felt that we were not alone in the world with our worries and questions, and we felt well taken care of. That was an incredible relief!" reports the MEGGLE employee. Of course, the relatives were not primarily concerned with saving money, but hearing from a professional during an on-site visit that the father would manage well even without 24-hour care, and that it would be completely sufficient if the neighborhood help stopped by three times a day and also took responsibility for administering the medication, relieved a lot of pressure from Barbara Maier, her partner, and their family.

And now we're looking for someone who sometimes plays with the father, takes care of small shopping errands, and is simply there as company and assistance," plans Barbara Maier after being informed by her contact at famPLUS about new subsidy opportunities according to the care law.

Overall, says Barbara Maier, not sounding as if she's exaggerating, it was "better than Christmas" to not be alone in the responsibility for the care and well-being of the father-in-law, but to have someone who knows what they're doing.

According to the 45-year-old, her father-in-law is doing well, he is relaxed and gives a content impression. This is not a given for a dependent relative, and it helps Barbara Maier to fully focus on her work again instead of being preoccupied with worries about a dear elderly person.

This is exactly what famPLUS and your employer MEGGLE want to achieve. Availing a family service is also a good business decision, not just for the affected relatives and the person in need of care. And Barbara Maier's conclusion? Quite simply: "We are absolutely thrilled with famPLUS and the result of the consultation." That's how it should be.
