When the G. family moved from North Rhine-Westphalia to Herrenberg near Stuttgart in 2010, because the father, Hardy, took a job as a software consultant at IBM's Böblingen branch, they found themselves quite alone in a new environment. Their son was 3 years old at the time, and their daughter was only 3 months old. And finding full-day nursery or kindergarten spots was not something that could be quickly arranged.

And so, the G. family first came to a childcare service arranged by famPlus in 2010, which helped them manage well in the new environment with a baby and a toddler. However, the new Baden-Württemberg residents did not stop at that single assignment, because after a while the needs of the young family changed – Mrs. G.'s career was also not meant to stagnate.
When it came time in 2012 to organize Ms. G's professional start as a teacher in the new federal state of Baden-Württemberg, the 41-year-old father of the family once again turned to famPlus. Shortly after he had filled out his personal requirements profile, the father of the family says, a "very pleasant and helpful lady from famPlus in Munich" contacted him to discuss everything further with Hardy G. "We were contacted very quickly and soon had a list of two to four candidates," summarizes the 41-year-old software consultant. Two of them, he reports, "disappeared relatively quickly," because there were different ideas about the collaboration. The lady, a woman in her early 50s, was then employed by us for around a year on a 400 € basis," said the father of the family. For three days a week, the G. family had this help come to the house to enable Mrs. G. to attend conferences, prepare and follow up on lessons, and fulfill her professional obligations in the first place.
Then," says Hardy G. quite openly, "we decided for financial reasons that my wife would prefer to stay home for now.
